Transform your surrounding into an entirely new world, immerse yourself into a virtually real-life landscape simply with the power of AI. Roomality is a realistic, 3D system that lets users experience a real-world environment at their home or office window.  Roomality is a breakthrough in the field of virtual reality, it gives a mesmerizing feel of “virtually real world” to the user, all without the need of a headset, goggles or glasses!

What is Roomality?

Roomality (Ireland based start-up)  is an AI-based system, that simply can be can be called as “virtual windows”. This tool projects an immersive 3D scene onto a user’s surrounding with objects and distances being rendered in real-time. Users can customize there surrounding according to there mood and need, can explore the world and this system can even teleport you to the surface of the moon!

What is Technology Behind Roomality?

The system tracks the user’s eye movements with the help of the cameras positioned over the window and is powered by AI. With the movement of eyes, the display is constantly adjusted to provide a fully interactive and splendid experience to the user. For artificially recreating real-world environments and to provide photo-realistic, high-resolution 3D details in the display, the company is using Unreal engine and Quixel Megascans. This is how this technology lets users experience the artificial world without any wearable headgear.

The company plans to develop this project in 3 phases:

  • Phase 1 (completed): At this stage, the company ensures that the system is successfully able to track the eye movement and projection of the scene on the large display. “This allows the user to feel as though they can walk right out and enter this new world”.

  • Phase 2 (on-going): At this stage, Romality will be projected onto an entire wall with the added dimension of french doors, a large balcony, or a full walled window, letting the users feel a virtual perception of stepping out and exploring the terrace.

  • Phase 3 (planned): In the final phase, Roomality will not only be limited to a screen or wall but all over the room, giving a dome-like effect. This stage will give users a “totally immersive environment” as they will be able to navigate the virtual environment just by looking anywhere in the room.

How Roomality can be Used?

This system can be used for leisure purposes and as well as for professional purposes:

  • Personal use: This can be a great tool to escape reality for a while. Users can select from a variety of landscapes to relax, enjoy, self-development, explore, and etcetera.

  • Exploring the World: Travel the whole world just by sitting in your room. Transport yourselves to a beautiful beach, relax in a peaceful forest and explore the unexplored!

  • Gaming: Gaming experience can be completely evolved with this system. Physical interaction will eliminate the need for any wearable VR headset and elevate the overall experience by completely immersing the gamer “inside” the game.

  • Architectural Design: With the ever-growing need for accommodation, hotel rooms, etc. rooms can be easily decorated (especially windowless accommodations) with this technology without any need for physical space or construction. This solution can ease the work of the designers and architects to a great extent.

  • The Film Industry: Firstly, this system will help to greatly reduce the cost of production by providing an alternative to the actual location. Moreover, Roomality can replace the need for the use of a green screen (which produces a low quality, unrealistic films) by providing a high-quality 3D realistic display.

This system is not only limited to these but it has the potential of endless possibilities that can be explored by the user.

“VR is a way to escape the real world into something more fantastic. It has the potential to be the most social technology of all time.”

-Palmer Luckey, Founder of Oculus Rift

Pros and Cons of Roomality

Roomality lets you escape your daily mundane routine and takes to you to a new world. This can be a good tool for recreation and self-growth. Roomality will also simplify many complex situations in several professions (as some of them mentioned above).

The only drawback of Roomality is that at the current stage this system will only work accurately when only one person enters the room. This is because of the AI technology and cameras mounted which can track the eyes of one person at a time.

Our Take on Roomality

Roomality is no doubt a breakthrough in the virtual world, it may serve several purposes, but we firmly believe that the artificial world will never replace the real world!

Everything You Need to Know About Google Foobar Challenge

Recently, while searching a keyword “headless chrome” on Google I got an unusual pop-up on my window, with a message: "Curious developers are known to seek interesting problems. Solve one from Google?" I was surprised to see Google sending me a challenge to solve and I accepted it immediately! Clicking on “I want to play” landed me on Google’s Foobar page. It was Google Foobar Challenge! What exactly is Google Foobar Challenge? Google Foobar challenge is a secret hiring process by the company to recruit top programmers and developers around the world. And it is known that several developers at Google are hired by this process. The challenge consists of five levels with a total of nine questions , with the level of difficulty increasing at each level. What to do after getting the challenge? After selecting “I want to play” option you land on Foobar’s website which has a Unix-like shell interface, including some standard Unix commands like help, cd, ls, cat and etcetera .

9 Techniques to Write Your Code Efficiently

(Photo by Oskar Yildiz on Unsplash ) It’s really easy to write efficient and faster code . Efficient code, not just only improves the functionality of the code but it can also reduce the time and space complexity of the programming. Speed is one of the major factors in deciding the quality of the code , for instance, your code might be producing the required result but it takes some time to execute then it will not be considered a quality code. An alternative approach to the same problem producing faster results will be considered better. The code should be clean i.e. comprehensible and readable so that it can be reused (saving the efforts of rewriting the whole program from scratch), adding new features, and making the process of debugging more easier. In this article, I will cover some simple tips and techniques which we can easily apply to make our code more elegant and efficient. "There is always more than one method to solve the problem." How to write code efficie

Complete Data Visualization Guide: Python

“A picture is worth a thousand words” -Fred R. Barnard  Data visualization is a visual (or graphic) representation of data to find useful insights (i.e. trends and patterns) in the data and making the process of data analysis easier and simpler. Aim of the data visualization is to make a quick and clear understanding of data in the first glance and make it visually presentable to comprehend the information. In Python, several comprehensive libraries are available for creating high quality, attractive, interactive, and informative statistical graphics (2D and 3D).
